filtered water
2 Tbs apple cider vinegar
various organic veggies and herbs such as onions, carrots, celery, parsley, bay leaves, etc.
sea salt to taste

How long do you boil the whole chicken for in step #1?

Good question. I never really time it. I let it boil until I "get around" to taking it out--which is usually about an hour or so. I would guess that the meat ought to be cooked through within about 30 minutes, but do be sure to check it to make sure!

I make this soup from GAPS diet. I boil my chicken from 3 hours to overnight.
